2010 Wiremill Open East Renfrewshire’s Lynn Cowan took the ladies title from Lothian player Frances Lawson, with Lothian players Amanda Cox and Lorna Roddie, beaten semi-finalists. Dart players came from all over the country to participate in the event, some coming from England and others from Ayrshire, Falkirk, Dunbar, Haddington, Glasgow, North Berwick, Edinburgh, Tranent and Midlothian. One for the future was young Jack Santana who at 10 years old was not phased by the occasion and won his opening match 3-1, and played well in his next game going down 3-1 to a more vastly experienced Lothian County player. This event has been going for 5 years now and would not be possible but for your welcome support and our thanks go to the following sponsors, who this year were: Wiremill Social Club, Ductform UK , D. Greenan Builders North Berwick & J.Nisbet and Family Your generosity through the collecting tins and raffle raised a total of £ 2490.72, a fantastic amount which is much appreciated by the St.Colombus Hospice and will be put to good use. I hope to see you all next year, Thanks again, John Nisbet Pictures from tournament below. |
